Asia Pacific had a year of continuous LNG demand recovery in 2024. Multiple factors drove that recovery, including organic economic expansion, structural production declines, new entrants' purchases and delayed nuclear power plants.

Price-sensitive buying, along with longer and hotter summers featuring heat waves across much of Asia, spurred additional demand. Correspondingly, countries emphasised energy security and affordability more than ever.

  • Contracting activities to persist
  • Which new importers secure FSRUs
  • Indonesia’s gas plans: balancing growth, energy security and policies
