Matthew's entrepreneurial journey began with the co-founding of Energytics, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. His vision and technical expertise led to Genscape's successful acquisition of the start-up in 2013. At Genscape, he continued to innovate as the product owner of a congestion forecasting tool, revolutionising how power flow forecasts impact future wholesale power markets in North America. His pioneering work set new standards in the industry and showcased his ability to drive transformative change.
Matthew made significant contributions at EPCOR Utilities and ERCOT earlier in his career. At EPCOR Utilities in Alberta, Canada, he spent six years architecting business systems and delivery processes for a diversified distribution and transmission operator and retail energy provider. At ERCOT, he played a crucial role as the lead data architect for the Nodal Market initiative, integrating ERCOT’s expanded Common Information Model (CIM) and transforming market operations. These experiences laid the foundation for his later successes and demonstrated his deep understanding of the power industry.
