Report summary
Kaltim Jaya Bara (KJB) is a surface coal mine located in the Berau Regency of East Kalimantan, 260 kilometres north of the city of Samarinda. The mine produces bituminous rank thermal coal with low ash and moderate levels of sulphur for export markets. The mine operates under an IUP license granted in February 2010. The 5000 Ha concession contains two mining areas, the Nyapa East and Nyapa West blocks.
