In the March 2025 China economic focus, we discuss the Chinese government's plan to achieve its 5% growth target despite increasing trade barriers. The US tariff hikes will negatively impact China's economic growth. China’s measured response suggests it does not want to escalate the trade war. The Chinese government will focus on boosting domestic consumption in 2025. An aggressive fiscal expansion plan is in place to fund the plan.
