Block 8 (Bukha Contract Area) covers two separate areas surrounding the producing Bukha and West Bukha fields, located off Oman's Musandam peninsula, in the Strait of Hormuz. The Bukha field started producing gas and condensate in 1994. West Bukha is a light oil field that straddles the Oman-Iran maritime boundary and is known as Hengam on the Iranian side.
