Norpipe Gas was brought onstream in 1977 and was the first gas pipeline system to be constructed in Norway. Dry gas is transported from the Ekofisk field centre in the southern part of the Norwegian sector to the receiving gas terminal in Emden, Germany. Following the redevelopment of Ekofisk II, Norpipe was tied back to Statpipe via the Ekofisk Bypass.
