The Kuparuk field is located 56 kilometres west of Prudhoe Bay and is the second largest oil field on Alaska's North Slope. The field was discovered in 1969 and began production in 1981. Production peaked at around 325,000 b/d in 1992 and has declined to a rate of 58,270 b/d during 2022. The field has been developed with three central processing facilities.
