Report summary
Mariscal Sucre lies along the maritime border with Trinidad and Tobago and is composed of four offshore fields: Rio Caribe, Mejillones, Dragon and Patao. The project was known as the Christopher Colombus Project until 2000 when it was renamed. There have been several attempts to develop the fields, but the project has seen numerous delays because of PDVSA's difficulty in attracting partners. Until a finalised development plan is in place, we classify the field's reserves as contingent.
