In September 2021, TotalEnergies and the Iraq government signed a series of contracts worth US$10 billion known as the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) to develop oil, gas, water desalination and solar power assets. The Ratawi Gas Hub is one of the main elements of the package deal.
