Report summary
Sakakemang PSC contains the Kali Berau Dalam (KBD) gas discovery onshore South Sumatra. Preliminary assessment of the KBD discovery suggested recoverable resource of at least 2 tcf, held in a fracture basement reservoir. An appraisal well, Kali Berau Dalam-3X, was spudded in December 2020 to conduct a long duration well test of reservoir productivity. The test concluded in 2022, establishing a lower level of connectivity across the basement reservoir than initially expected. The resource size was subsequently downgraded. In December 2020, Indonesian authorities approved an initial Plan of Development (POD) for an early production system. A revised POD was submitted in 2022 with an integrated carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility to handle the field's 26% CO2 content. The revised POD was approved in January 2024, and FEED was awarded to Indonesian company PT Synergy Engineering in May 2024.
