The Surat Gas Project is a coal seam gas development in the Surat Basin, southeast Queensland. The project is operated by Arrow Energy, a joint venture between Shell (50%) and PetroChina (50%). Production from the Kogan, Tipton West and Daandine fields started in the early 2000s. In April 2020 the first phase of the Surat Gas Project was sanctioned. This phase will require between 700 and 800 wells, delivering up to 250 mmcfd to QCLNG. There is potential for a further four additional phases that could produce around 685 mmcfd (4.4 mmtpa) at peak.
