Report summary
The Vilje oil field is located to the north of Heimdal in the Norwegian North Sea. The field has been developed as a three well subsea tie-back to the Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, located 20 kilometres to the southwest. Production from Vilje started in 2008 and has outperformed expectations. Oil from the area is exported by shuttle tankers. Most of the gas produced at Vilje is used as fuel on the Alvheim FPSO.
